About AltTab

AltTab takes long, systems-heavy video games apart with numbers. Every article starts from one question the game itself never answers: a breakpoint, a hidden formula, a choice you cannot undo. Each page carries something you can actually use, not a summary you could get anywhere else.

Why these games belong together

They share a shape. In a deep game, the interesting questions are arithmetic that somebody left undocumented, rather than secrets anyone is withholding. A tier list is a document like any other: rows you can compare, built from figures that were scattered until someone sat down and reconciled them. That is the work here, and it is why this site is organised by game rather than by title.

What you get on every page

Who writes this

AltTab is written by Cabotine — one person, not a content team.

To be plain about method: these articles are not written from personal playthroughs. They are built by reading widely and reconciling what is found — game files and patch notes, manufacturer specifications and governing-body rulings, developer posts and changelogs, and what people report on forums, subreddits and recorded runs. The work here is the reconciliation: hundreds of scattered reports turned into one table you can act on.

That comes with a rule. Where sources disagree, the article shows the split and says which way the evidence leans, instead of quietly picking a side. Where a figure could not be confirmed, it says so rather than rounding a guess into a claim. Where a manufacturer does not publish a number, the table records that the number is missing rather than filling the gap. Reports are cited so you can check them yourself.

Editorial policy

Articles are drafted with the help of automated tooling and reviewed by a person before publication. Nothing is published without that review. Where a source is available online it is linked in the article body. Screenshots and artwork are used only where the rights holder permits it, and figures on this site are drawn from the underlying data rather than captured from a screen. Corrections are welcome — mail [email protected] and the page will be updated with a visible revision date.

How we work

Every article starts from a question people are actually asking, and it has to answer that question with something you cannot get from a summary: a calculator you can put your own numbers into, a table we compiled ourselves, a dataset, or a tracker. Articles that would only restate what an official wiki or a product page already says do not get published.

We state the version an article was written against — a game patch, a model year. When a change invalidates something, we update the page and change the revision date rather than quietly leaving it up.

Advertising

This site is supported by display advertising. Advertisements are labelled and are kept separate from article text. Advertisers have no input into what we cover or what we conclude, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for a particular verdict.

Affiliation

AltTab is an independent publication. The same author also runs DailyForm, a Korean-language site that reads pay, insurance and licensing rules straight from the statutes and their annexed tables — the same method, applied to payslips instead of patch notes. Product names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only.
