Mistfall Hunter season reset: what you keep, what resets

Mistfall Hunter Guide 6 min read

Mistfall Hunter uses a partial seasonal reset, not a full wipe. Character levels, warehouse supplies and select camp buildings reset. Long-term progression systems such as the Collection Pedestal do not. You also get compensation based on what you had.

This matters to a new player far earlier than it sounds, because a season is planned to run three to four months and Season 1 started at launch on 30 July 2026. If you are starting now, you are already partway into it. Knowing what survives changes what is worth hoarding.

The confirmed split

Why the game does it this way

The developer’s stated reasoning is economic rather than punitive. If everything carried over into each new season, they would have to tighten drop rates and slow mid-to-late-game resource acquisition to keep the server-wide economy stable. The partial reset is what buys the high drop rates and the fast early progression instead. Whether you like that trade or not, it tells you the studio is unlikely to remove it — DevNote #8 says the core framework “will not be altered in the short term,” while the specific compensation items, trade-in ratios, and reset categories will keep being iterated.

What to do with this as a beginner

  1. Do not hoard warehouse supplies as a long-term store of value. They are named in the reset list. Spend them on things that either convert into carried-over progression or win you matches now.
  2. Do prioritise the Collection Pedestal and anything else that reads as long-term progression, since that is the category explicitly protected.
  3. Do not assume your camp is safe. “Select camp buildings” reset, and the developer has not said which. Until the full breakdown lands, treat camp investment as season-scoped.
  4. Do not panic-sell before the wipe. Net asset worth from the previous season drives the honorary rewards, and the compensation is a portion of seasonal assets returned. Dumping everything for currency of unknown status is a guess in both directions.
  5. Wait for the detailed breakdown before making a big call. The developer has committed to publishing a comprehensive, detailed breakdown of the exact seasonal wipe specifications as Season 1 approaches its tail end. That document does not exist yet.

The Season Task numbers, since they interact with this

DevNote #8 also apologised for the Season Task count and published the real thresholds, which are useful for deciding how much of the season to chase before a reset:

  • 152 tasks to unlock all end-game rewards. This is the number that caused the backlash.
  • 50 core tasks to unlock Pip’s Rare Pouch, which is usable for the whole season.
  • 93 tasks to obtain the Legendary Nether Ferry skin.

The developer says future seasons will drastically streamline the count, optimise pacing, and entirely eliminate mandatory three-player team requirements. None of that applies to Season 1. If you only want the Pouch, the target is 50, not 152.

Season Task thresholds to reach each reward DevNote #8, 20 Aug 2026 — task counts required, out of 152 total Pip's Rare Pouch 50 tasks Legendary Nether Ferry skin 93 tasks All end-game rewards 152 tasks Future seasons are promised to streamline this count; these numbers apply to Season 1 only.

Separately, the Season 1 Battle Pass “Slumbering Contract” is stated to unlock for free after seven days of cumulative logins, and the developer says maintaining a certain level of activity during a season lets you renew into the next season’s pass for free.

What is not confirmed

Everything in the “not named either way” row above, plus the exact date Season 1 ends. Three to four months is the AMA’s planned duration for a season, not a commitment for this one, and the wipe specification document has not been published. Anyone quoting an exact reset date or exact compensation ratios today is not working from an official source.

For the pattern of how reliably this studio converts stated plans into shipped features, the roadmap versus delivered tracker is the relevant history, and the post-launch update cadence dataset records how fast the surrounding systems have been changing.
