Escape from Tarkov 1.1.0: what each trader loyalty level unlocks

Escape from Tarkov Guide 8 min read

If you searched for a Tarkov quest chain in the last month, you probably read something that was true and is now wrong. Patch 1.1.0.0 took the thing every wiki page and every quest tracker was built on — this task unlocks that task — and deleted it. The pages did not update. They mostly cannot update, because the structure they describe no longer exists.

The clearest evidence is in the threads themselves. Someone asks whether a familiar task was removed in 1.1, and the replies argue about it, half remembering an old name, half describing a batch that appeared without anyone completing anything. Nobody is lying. The question just no longer has a chain-shaped answer.

What actually changed

Straight from the patch notes and BSG’s own announcement, three changes that matter more than the rest:

  1. Most side tasks are now tied to a trader loyalty level, arriving in groups of two to four per trader rather than one-at-a-time down a chain.
  2. Trader sales volume was removed from loyalty level requirements entirely. The turnover bar that every older guide lists as a third gate is gone.
  3. Trade offers were unhooked from tasks. Many items that used to require a specific quest now appear the moment you hit the loyalty level.

That second one is the reason to be suspicious of any table you find. Below is a live example.

The gate columns, and which one is a ghost

GatePre-1.1.0In 1.1.0Confidence
PMC levelRequiredRequired, rebalanced for 8 tradersConfirmed in patch notes
ReputationRequiredRequired, rebalanced for 8 tradersConfirmed in patch notes
Rouble/dollar turnoverRequiredRemovedConfirmed in patch notes
Prerequisite taskCommonRare — a handful of chains onlyConfirmed in patch notes

The eight traders explicitly named as rebalanced are Prapor, Therapist, Fence, Skier, Peacekeeper, Mechanic, Ragman and Jaeger. Existing PvP and PvE characters had their reputation values recalculated against the new numbers, so a rep figure you screenshotted before the patch is not comparable to one you read today.

Here is the honest part. The community tables now circulating still print all three columns. One widely shared Season 1 table lists Prapor LL2 as level 15 / 0.20 rep / ₽750,000, Skier LL4 as level 38 / 0.75 rep / ₽2.6M, Ragman LL4 as level 42, and so on. Those turnover figures cannot be current — the patch notes say the requirement was removed. That is a table built by pasting old rows next to new prose, and it is exactly the failure mode this post exists to flag. We are not reproducing the level and rep numbers as fact, because a source that is provably wrong in one column has not earned the other two. Unconfirmed: no post-1.1.0 per-trader level and reputation table has been verified against an official source for this article. Read your own trader screen; it is the only table that is definitely current.

The dataset: trader × loyalty level

Rows are trader-LL pairs. What is verifiable is marked as such; what is not is marked as not.

Two entries in that table are named directly in the patch notes — the Tri-Zip at Ragman LL3 and the DevTac Ronin at Mechanic LL2 — and they are worth more than the rest of the table combined, because they are the pattern: the item is now a property of the loyalty level, not a reward for a named quest. If a guide tells you to run a specific task to unlock a specific piece of kit, check the trader’s stock first. You may already own the unlock.

Reading it against your own LL

The dataset above is a lookup, and the lookup takes one input: your current LL with that trader. Work it in this order.

  • Open right now = the batch attached to your current LL, plus anything left over from lower LLs. Batches do not expire when you level past them. A task you skipped at LL1 is still sitting there at LL3.
  • Opens next = the batch at LL+1, which you reach through PMC level and reputation — and reputation comes mostly from the tasks in your current batch. This is the loop: the batch you have is the fuel for the batch you want.
  • Never opens from a batch = the surviving chains. Tarkov Shooter and The Punisher are the named survivors, they are strictly solo, and they hand out the rare offers and crafts. If a reward matters to you and it is not showing up at any LL, it is probably behind one of these.

The practical consequence: with turnover deleted, there is no longer any reason to churn junk through a trader to raise a bar. Reputation and PMC level are the only two dials, and tasks move both. Time spent flipping loot for turnover is now time spent for nothing.

Why the batch model changes what you should do first

Under chains, the optimal play was depth — pick a trader and drive their chain as far as it went, because everything downstream was locked behind everything upstream. Under batches, the optimal play is breadth. Every trader has two to four tasks open for you at LL1 the moment the wipe starts, and none of them require you to finish anything else. Collecting the cheap ones across all eight traders raises eight reputation bars in parallel.

That inverts a lot of early-wipe advice written before August 2026. Our early-wipe priority guide frames the opening days as a sequencing problem, and the sequencing has genuinely loosened — what stayed true is that PMC level is the gate you cannot shortcut, and levelling is still the slowest bar.

It also reshapes the Collector path, since the destination is now stated as LL4 with every trader plus a Fence reputation threshold and a short remaining quest list, rather than the sprawling per-trader quest count it used to be. (The exact Fence threshold and the exact surviving quest list are unconfirmed here.) If you are tracking that route, count by trader level rather than by quest — count trader levels, not quest checkboxes. Because Season 1 runs on a clock, the seasonal character timer is what tells you whether LL4 across eight traders is realistic in the time you have left, and the seasonal modifier tradeoff covers the other lever on how fast those reputation bars move.

How to check anything in this post yourself

Open the trader, hover the loyalty level bar, and read the requirement rows the game prints. If the game shows two rows and a guide shows three, the guide predates 1.1.0. That single test invalidates most of what is currently indexed on this topic, including tables that otherwise look authoritative and recently dated.
